Tennis Ladder

The pros are working to develop a junior ladder that will include all the kids participating in the evening programs, and others who will be invited to play.  This will be unveiled in March, and play will start toward the middle of March for position.  Six courts will be available for play on Wednesdays beginning the week of March 17^th at Southampton Recreational Center, devoted exclusively to match play for the ladder. 

Here are the rewards for placing high on the ladder:

1. At the end of the summer (date to be determined) the number one rated player will receive a fabulous tennis related prize, likely to be private lessons with the pro of their choice, or a new racquet.  We are working on sponsors at the moment, but it will be good!  There will also be prizes for the person playing the most matches, and the most improved player.
2. The top players on the ladder will be invited to play in round robin matches against players traveling from other areas of the state and Mid-Atlantic.  We are working to set up some matches with a group from Maryland, and have been contacted by Dunlop to host some kids traveling from out of state as well.  We would like to get this program moving in mid-April, and host our first group sometime in the spring.
3. Top players will be invited to other events sponsored by the group, including trips to pro events and camps as available.
4. Top players from this group will be invited to play into the elite level groups at no cost.

The ladder, with incentives, should get the kids out and playing some serious matches.  With availability of courts on an ongoing basis, the matches should be fairly easy to schedule.  To sign up please click here.
